Sony closing more online servers for games
Sony's UK division will be shutting down online servers for a handful of first party PS3 games over the coming months.
As has been previously announced, MAG, SOCOM Special Forces and SOCOM Confrontation online features will be disabled by January 28 2014.
as of March 28 2014, players will no longer be able to use the online features of Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2 and Resistance 3.
And from May 20 2014, Gran Turismo 5 online features will no longer be accessible. Of course this will no effect your offline mode for these games.
No detailed explanations were given for the server closures, although such measures are typical for older titles with small - and usually dwindling - active player counts.
The first Resistance game was a PS3 launch title in 2006, with sequels following in 2008 and 2011. SOCOM Confrontation was released in Europe in March 2009, MAG has been active since its January 2010 launch, SOCOM Special Forces arrived in April 2011, while Gran Turismo 5 hit stores in November 2010.
