Tomb Raider Xbox one version runs at half the frame rate of the PS4

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition has been demonstrated running at 60fps on PS4, making it the latest PlayStation game that boasts double the frame-rate as the Xbox One edition. nothing new really.

A Square Enix spokesperson would not explicitly verify the disparity between the two versions, although recent developments have gradually verified the difference.

On Thursday, GamesRadar published a video interview with Tomb Raider executive producer Scot Amos, who pointed out certain parts of the game was "the PS4 version running at 60fps at 1080p".

Square Enix has maintained that both next-gen versions were expected to run at thirty frames per second, and that any achievement beyond this would be a pleasant surprise.

Currently there are a handful of games on the new consoles that demonstrably run at higher frame-rates and/or resolutions on PlayStation 4 than on Xbox One, including Call of Duty: Ghosts.

A Tomb Raider Definitive Edition PC version will not be released, Square Enix has confirmed. The console versions will ship on Friday January 31 across Europe, and on Tuesday 28 in North America.
