Borderlands 2 has now become the bestselling game on 2k Games' roster, its parent company Take-Two has announced.
Reporting on the results for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014, Take-Two announced that Borderlands 2 has sold 8.5 million units since it released in November 2012.
This includes sales of the game across all the platforms, including both the original game and the 2013 Game of the Year edition, putting it ahead of games like BioShock and NBA 2k series.
Developed by Gearbox Software, Borderlands 2 has also been confirmed to be headed to PS Vita, though no announcements have been made since Gamescom 2013.
Take-Two reported $578 million in profits for the quarter ending December 2013, mostly due to the success of Grand Theft Auto 5. The company has shipped 35 million units to date.
