Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will release in 2015, Sony announced at its E3 media briefing.
The PS4 exclusive stars an older Nathan Drake has been "out of the game" for several years.
"Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves," the trailer's official description reads.
"With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves."
The Last of Us directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann have been charged with leading development of Uncharted 4 following the departure of long-time Uncharted director Amy Hennig.
