The Crew gets a release date

Ubisoft has announced a November 11 release date for its new MMO racing game, The Crew.

That release date accounts for the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions - regions weren't specified, but with November 11 falling on a Tuesday, it is safe to assume that is the North American release date.

The firm has also announced that the extended closed beta of the game will be opened to select players from July 23 - applications for the beta are being taken now via the official site.

The Crew is a massively multiplayer online game with an open world that spans the entire United States of America, albeit in scaled-down form.

The game features a persistent online world where players can form crews with friends to compete in races and events. Players can customize their cars to participate in multiplayer street races, skill challenges, and cross-country endurance tests.
