Siege is described as a co-op multiplayer-focused game in which enemies have the means to transform their environments into strongholds, while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy's position.
Ubisoft says the game gives players "unprecedented control" over their ability to fortify their position -- by reinforcing walls and floors, using barbed wire, deployable shields and mines, and more -- or breach the enemies' using observation drones, sheet charges, rappelling, and more.
Leveraging Ubisoft Montreal's Realblast engine, Rainbow Six Siege incorporates procedural destruction, Ubisoft says, meaning environments react dynamically based on variables like the caliber of bullets or the amount of explosives used.
At E3, the company showed the below gameplay video in which one team played as SWAT, infiltrating a mansion in which the other team were holding a hostage.
