December 2013 Nintendo Direct

Well, Nintendo Direct just concluded with it and once again graced by Satoru Iwata who announced new games and things coming for future Nintendo titles and DLC! Here are the main highlights that I feel need to be mentioned.

The team behind Dynasty Warriors will be working closely with Nintendo to create a Dynasty Warriors style game using the Legend of Zelda characters. Link was displayed slashing around and destroying armies of enemies and using special moves, before the placeholder name of Hyrule Warriors was revealed. Certainly going to be a Wii U seller.

A Yoshi's Island game is in development for the 3DS titled Yoshi's New Island and is being created with help by the man who helped in creating the original Yoshi's Island.

Cranky Kong got reannounced for Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, along with the announcement of special moves that turn enemies on screen into items.

New information on the Pokemon Bank and PokeTransfer features include that for people that get the feature during a special time period (likely during the time to get a free month) you will also be gifted a free Celebi. This is something I'm happy for being the Pokefan I am, and getting one of rarest Pokemon ever.

The Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright game got a European release date of March 28th 2014.

Luigi gets his own new game again! This time being Dr. Luigi. It's a similar game type to Dr. Mario, but it uses L shaped pills instead to add more strategy and difficulty for both single and multiplayer.

NES Remix is a downloadable 'game' on the Wii U which takes 16 popular pieces of gameplay from 16 games from the NES era and adds new twists. Link trying to rescue the princess while jumping over DK's barrels? How about Super Mario Bros in a mirror mode? Certainly a cool idea indeed.

And finally, Princess Rosalina from Mario Galaxy has been confirmed to be joining the rosters of both Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS!

This was Eoin bringing you new updates, I'm out!

New information on the Ultra Street Fighter 4 fifth character

Well, not a whole lot of new information as Capcom are STILL being tight-lipped about it. However, they have recently debunked the rumors going around about the final character in the game being Retsu from the very first Street Fighter game. These rumors have been shown to be false, as Yoshinori Ono himself has declared that the final character for the game is in fact female.

Many people believe that this character will be Nilin from Remember Me, though I believe those ideas were debunked at its announcement along with the original ideas of Asura being the character. Now there are some characters that could be that final character, that I have found in my search on the net as well as my own personal ideas.

Lucia Morgan from Final Fight 3
Jessica Haggar from Final Fight
Vanessa from P.N.03
Regina from Dino Crisis
Claire Redfield from Resident Evil (My personal pick)
Ada Wong from Resident Evil

Whoever this woman is, Capcom are certainly taking their time revealing her. Hurry up Capcom! We only have about six more months before the game is released, show us who you've been hiding! Oh yeah, the game is set for release in June 2014, forgot to mention that!

Anyways, felt this needed to be shown. Seeye around folks, Eoin signing out!

Marvel vs Capcom delisted from PSN and XBLA

While the information as to the reasons why this is happening, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 are being delisted from the PSN and XBLA. Could this be due to Capcom being unable to afford the Marvel license any more, or are Marvel merely aiming to protect their properties similarly to Nintendo? We don't know, all we know is that DLC and online purchases of the game will no longer be possible.

What does this mean for the future of the popular franchise? It very likely means that it's dead and buried. From this it is very unlikely for any new updates for the game to be possible, or any new games to ever happen. Perhaps due to it it will be impossible for EVO to broadcast the game, we'll find out in time.

For now, the DLC is actually going to be gone today from PSN in the US, so you'd better snap it up quick! The DLC will vanish for European PSN will vanish on the 19th, and on XBLA the DLC will vanish worldwide on the 26th.

It's a sad day, but in the end Marvel are fully in their rights to decide not to go along with the series should they choose not to though I will personally be sad. I've been introduced to one of my favourite Youtubers, Maximillian, due to his Assist Me series that detail how to play characters from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (and for a time its Vanilla version). I was introduced to Marvel characters through the game too, namely Shuma-Gorath, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Taskmaster, Iron Fist and the Super Skrull.

I hope one day we'll have hope for a Marvel vs Capcom 4, but it won't be any time soon. This is Eoin, signing out!

Microsoft addresses lack of Xbox one demo's

Microsoft has addressed Xbox One owners concerned about a lack of game demos available on the new console.

Larry Major Nelson Hyrb Xbox Live director of programming said in a forum post on his blog (via OXM): "It is (and always has been) up to game developers to do demos for their own games. They'll be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward."

Launching demos for retail titles was optional on Xbox 360, developers always had to release trial versions of their digital games for the console, which isn't the case currently on the Xbox one

Xbox One platform architect Marc Whitten said earlier this year that Microsoft was "going to work on lots of ways to make it easy for you to find and try new games on the service", although he didn't specify how

It was said in early December that Microsoft is working on a number of improvements to Xbox One's party system, while monitoring user feedback on ways to improve the general user experience.

Having launched in 13 markets on November 22, Xbox One sales topped one million units in less than 24 hours, according to Microsoft.

No Mans Sky opene exploration detailed

No Man's Sky was a surprise announcement that came from last weekend's VGX event. it looked great but we didnt have info.

now we do however thanks to developer Hello Games who unveiled new gameplay information in recent preview events with press.

LOLing about with Eric part 2

Hey guys its that time again. i was hoping to make this weekly and here i am so thats good. This week i just wanted to explain a few more basic things that might confuse you if your just starting out, i certainly know i was quite confused but i had a friend who was nice enough to help me out and explain a few things to me.

Firstly i want to start with what they call pre-game meta. This revolves around a few small things and ill explain them as best as i can. one thing that you can do to boost your champions in battle is the masteries trees. You may recognise something like this if you've played an RPG. A mastery tree is basically a bunch of behind the scenes abilities that boost various stat's for your champion such as how damage an attack can do or how much health you have and so on. in league the masteries tree look a little like this.
